As per the Daily Mirror, the Chelsea board have full faith in the methods of Antonio Conte, and are set to back him in the January transfer window as a demonstration of that faith.
Conte is under pressure, there’s no getting around that. The Premier League champions currently sit nine points behind leaders Manchester City, and it is looking increasingly unlikely that we will qualify as group winners in the Champions League – meaning that we could be handed a very tough draw in the last 16.
However, despite much of the media blowing the situation out of proportion, the Chelsea board remain calm, and are set to do everything they can to ensure Conte leads the Blues to another successful campaign.
According to the Daily Mirror, Chelsea will try once again to sign Juventus left-back in January. Calciomercato reported in the summer window that the reigning champions offered £65M in exchange for the Brazilian’s services. It seems likely that it would take an even bigger offer to prise Sandro away from Turin in the winter.
