Chelsea have a big stock of central defenders right now, but if they sell a few of them we could yet see more signings.

Ben Jacobs did a long stint on the CFCHub Twitch stream last night, which produced a lot of interesting quotes about Chelsea’s summer so far and what we could see in the final weeks of the window.
The club’s central defensive situation has become a major focus recently after the signing of Wesley Fofana took the club to ten centre backs on their books. Amazingly, Jacobs thinks another could join, but it would take a lot of sales.
Chelsea could sign another defender – but a lot needs to happen first

He said that if Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile and Tosin Adarabioyo all go, there could be another addition at the back. That is already assuming Trevoh Chalobah’s move to Como goes through as expected.
Even with all four of them gone, Chelsea would still have Maxence Lacroix, Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana and Josh Acheampong for a season with no European football.
As Jacobs went on to say, while it’s possible, it’s not a priority. The focus is getting those players sold rather than worrying about what happens if they do all go.
In other news…
Austin MacPhee is an exciting off the field addition to Chelsea this summer, and it shouldn’t take long to start to see his impact on the team.
Chelsea have been quoting Man City a £70m asking price for Pedro Neto – a pretty reasonable sum but also one we think the Blues would take.
