Chelsea are stepping up their efforts to sign Everton talisman Romelu Lukaku, according to the London Evening Standard.
The London Evening Standard believe that Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata is also on the list of Antonio Conte’s targets, but Lukaku is the Premier League champion’s number one priority for the summer transfer window.
The London Evening Standard report that Lukaku would count as home-grown in both the Premier League and the Champions League, which has made him an attractive option for Conte.
Our pursuit of Lukaku will not be straightforward, however. The London Evening Standard believe that Everton will demand a whopping £100million in exchange for their prize asset, but Chelsea feel as though they can clinch a deal for less than that.
If Lukaku was able to replicate his Everton form in a Chelsea shirt, he would undoubtedly prove to be a shrewd acquisition. Only time will tell if a deal materialises.
