A top source has pointed out that Jesse Derry would be a very interesting target for Bayern Munich – but they’ve waited too long.

Christian Falk is a well connected source in German football, and he’s today been talking about Chelsea youngster Jesse Derry and the teenager’s transfer links to Bayern Munich.
“He could be a good backup option. But, at the moment, in the offence, Bayern have their solutions,” Falk wrote on his website.
“If Derry is cheap and wants to come to Bayern Munich, officials could point to the fact that the club experienced a lot of success with the last young player to come from Chelsea, Jamal Musiala.
“If they have a chance to have such a talent for a small amount of money, I think Bayern would have to discuss this. But I haven’t heard anything concrete on the subject as of now.”

It all make sense – but Bayern have simply waited too long. Derry has signed a new contract at Chelsea, and is in Lisbon right now signing up for his loan to Sporting.
The Germans will have to move a little faster next time.
