Chelsea manager Antonio Conte wants two new strikers this summer, according to the Metro.
As per the Metro, Conte was furious with Chelsea’s failure to sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton, with the Belgium international instead joining the Blues’ direct rivals Manchester United.
The Metro believe that Chelsea are lining up two strikers to appease their title-winning manager, with the pair forming a new look, all-star strike force.
The first, according to the Metro, is Borussia Dortmund goal-machine Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who would found the back of the net 40 times in all competitions last campaign. It is reported that the Gabonese international would cost around £60M for any potential suitors.
As well as Aubameyang, the Metro report that Chelsea are also interested in signing Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata. Morata, however, would cost an eye-watering £79M, meaning that we would be forking out a whopping £139M on attacking reinforcements.
That would be some statement of intent.
