Chelsea player wanted by Serie A giants, move looks unlikely – here’s why

Tiemoue Bakayoko

Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is reportedly attracting attention from AC Milan.

Bakayoko arrived at Stamford Bridge with high expectations following a superb campaign at the heart of Monaco’s midfield.

He failed to justify his hefty price-tag during his debut season as a Blue, though. His performance against Watford was a memorable low for the Frenchman.

He’s not an archetypal Maurizio Sarri midfielder, which leaves a question mark over his future as a Chelsea player.

It’s unlikely we’d be prepared to sell him without recouping a large chunk of what we paid for him last summer.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan are considering making a move to sign Bakayoko in the final weeks of the summer window.

The issue is, Milan have already been punished for breaking FFP regulations. It seems unlikely they’d be willing to match our valuation of the 23-year-old.

It’s at this point unclear what the future holds for Bakayoko.
