Chelsea willing to pay Torino talisman’s £89M release clause

Andrea Belotti

Torino striker Andrea Belotti is reportedly of interest to Chelsea.

Chelsea could be willing to pay Torino striker Andrea Belotti’s £89M release clause, according to the Independent.

As per the Independent, Chelsea’s Premier League counterparts Manchester United had previously identified Belotti as a potential summer target.

There was, however, one stumbling block – the price. The Independent report that Torino refused to budge on his £89M release clause, and thus no deal was agreed.

Chelsea, on the other hand, appear more willing to pay that fee. The Independent believe that the club’s desperation having missed out on Romelu Lukaku, could force their hand.

It is reported that Antonio Conte has quit over lack of transfer activity during his time with previous employers, and Chelsea appear wary that history could repeat itself.

The Independent note that Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is another potential target for the Blues, as he, and Belotti, are seen as the only realistically attainable top strikers on the market.
