The reliable Matt Law has revealed a snippet of Chelsea’s transfer plans in a recent report for the Telegraph.
The Premier League champions invested heavily in the summer transfer window, but are arguably weaker than last term. Tiemoue Bakayoko, though he has frightening potential, is not yet better than Nemanja Matic. Alvaro Morata has scored nine Premier League goals already this term, but he lacks the cutting edge that Diego Costa provided.
Antonio Conte may well be forced to look to the transfer market again to further reinforce his Chelsea squad, and Matt Law believes that he knows who is on the Italian’s transfer radar.
As per the Telegraph’s report, Chelsea are interested in signing Everton midfielder Ross Barkley and Juventus left-back Alex Sandro.
Matt Law also claims that Conte is after a new striker. The Chelsea boss has continually overlooked Michy Batshuayi during his time at Stamford Bridge and could be looking for some competition for Morata.
Only time will tell if his wish will be granted this winter.
