Reports have emerged that Turkish Super Lig side Kasımpaşa are inches away from signing Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater on a six-month loan deal. (DailyMail)

Having made just 23 appearances for the club, with his last one coming in the Community Shield against Manchester City back in August 2018, Drinkwater has long been an outcast since moving to Chelsea from Leicester City in 2017.

The 30-year old midfielder has apparently landed in Istanbul ahead of the move and an agreement was in place ahead of time, with restrictions on travel delaying proceedings. It is reported that Chelsea are set to pay a considerable amount of the players’ wages. (DailyMail)

The Premier League winner is yet to finalize paperwork and undergo a medical examination at Kasımpaşa, who currently sit in 13th place in Turkey’s top tier.

He has eighteen months left on his contract, with Chelsea looking offload several squad members in a bid to cut down a much-bloated side.
