Chelsea have a lot of business to get through in the coming weeks, but they ticked another item off their list last night.
Benoit Badiashile’s move to Napoli has been inching closer for a few weeks, but we’re now hearing it’s a done deal.
The Athletic claimed that the Serie A side have agreed a €4m loan deal to take the defender for the season, with a €27m option to make the deal permanent. The French defender was not taken on Chelsea’s preseason tour, and he finally has a chance to make a move and start playing regularly again.
Napoli and Chelsea likely to be back in talks a year from now

We can already predict what happens with this deal – no matter how well Badiashile does, Napoli won’t want to pay the full transfer fee, and we’ll end up back in negotiations with them next summer anyway. At least a good season of playing regularly in Serie A will boost his profile and make finding interested teams next summer a little easier.
