Chelsea have continued their Deadline Day clearout with the sale of Deivid Washington to Strasbourg.

It gets another item crossed off the list for the Blues, who are racing to clear out deadwood before the deadline. After a series of poor loans, there weren’t teams interested in the striker. In the end, it’s our sister club who have done us a solid.

The Brazilian joins a list of forwards including Joaquin Panichelli and fellow new arrivals Jacobo Ortega and Conrad Harder at the Meinau. Minutes won’t be easy to come by.

Washington unlikely to help weakened Strasbourg

The fee is reportedly €8m and a sell on clause, so Chelsea made a big loss on the signing of the Brazilian, who never looked remotely close to the level. People in Brazil didn’t even seem to rate him when we made the move.

We are a little worried about Strasbourg this season. From what we’ve seen, Washington isn’t going to do much to help them. They’ve had a total squad change this summer, and it’s hard to predict how it will work out for them. While Washington might not make an impact, Dario Essugo and Omari Kellyman could do well.

In other news…

Dario Essugo has secured a season long loan to Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg.

Enzo Fernandez to Man City is a done deal, depleting our midfield options further with Essugo gone.

Robert Sanchez is on his way to Como after agreeing a loan deal with the Serie A club.
