Chelsea’s willingness to sell Alejandro Garnacho after one very disappointing season at Stamford Bridge is no surprise. What is more surprising is the number of interested parties there seem to be.
The Blues want €50m, and while they might not get it, there do seem to be a number of teams at least willing to engage in negotiations with that as the starting point.
Roma make Chelsea loan plus option bid for wonger
Italian transfer insider Gianluca Di Marzio has details on perhaps the most concrete offer so far. He says that Roma want an “attacking winger” and have offered a €5m loan fee with a further €35m option to buy activated by “certain conditions.”
Chelsea’s willingness to accept that would depend entirely on what those conditions are, of course. We suspect they would take that offer, despite it falling short of the €50m they want, if the conditions are easily met.
What’s interesting about all this is that Roma’s other option named in the piece is also a BlueCo player. Diego Moreira has had a very successful spell at Strasbourg, and seems like he could be Roma’s bargain option should Chelsea price them out of a move for Garnacho.
It looks like we’re going to end up winning whichever way they turn.
