Chelsea have this morning announced a deal to sign Harrison Bettoni.
The 18 year old attacking midfielder broke into the Wigan first team last season, and has attracted a lot of attention from top teams this summer.
Chelsea have secured him on a four year contract, and will pay the Latics training compensation to be decided at a later date.
Bettoni set for loan within a year says BBC source

This deal had already been confirmed a few days ago, but now it’s been made official. We were wondering at the time about where Bettoni would fit in, and Nizaar Kinsella of the BBC seems to have some answers.
He says Bettoni will start off playing with Chelsea’s academy team, but that will only last for 6 to 12 months while Bettoni finds his feet. The teenager – who was already playing regularly in League One football last season – will then go on loan to continue his development.
While in his adaptation period, he can also join first team training sessions, so Xabi Alonso can get a look at him.
It’s a big move for him, and we can’t wait to see how he gets on once he’s back playing senior football again.
In other news…
Chelsea are now considered “likely” to complete a deal for 18 year old talent Kerim Alajbegovic, which raises questions about some of our other wingers.
Tens of millions of pounds have already been spent by Chelsea over a succession of summers. – we really hope they’ve got it straight now.
