West Ham’s relegation was always going lead to a bit of a feeding frenzy on their squad, and that process has already begun. Tottenham have swooped for Mateus Fernandes, and several more of the prime options will be gone by the end of the summer.

With Fernandes gone, the next option is Crysencio Summerville. Phillips says that Chelsea were keen on him before West Ham had signed him from Leeds, and might now take the chance to sign the 24 year old with a relegation discount.
Summerville, who impressed with the Netherlands at the World Cup, is too good to stay in the Championship. The question is which team ends up signing him, and how much they end up paying. Phillips suggests West Ham might accept players from Chelsea in return, but we’re not sure who in the current squad would be happy to drop down to the Championship.
