Liam Delap is now a done deal after joining Nottingham Forest, and it looks likes Chelsea’s second big striker sale of the summer isn’t far behind.
According to the likes of Nizaar Kinsella, Nicolas Jackson is on his way to Aston Villa to take a medical after Chelsea agreed a potential £65m sale of the Senegal striker.
Kinsella makes it clear that personal terms are yet to be finalised – but all parties are confident enough that won’t be a problem that they’ve let Jackson go and complete his fitness tests. It should be wrapped up and announced very soon.
Jackson goes for a good price; Dutch striker gets a promotion

Emmanuel Emegha has seen his status rise considerable – he’s now alongside Danny Welbeck as Joao Pedro’s backup. His competition has evaporated, and if he impresses this season he can put himself in a really good position to move forward with his Chelsea career.
In other news…
Chelsea somehow got an incredible potential £50m for Liam Delap, helping further to clear the squad out.
Xabi Alonso answered plenty of questions about his team for tonight’s game, although he didn’t give much away about who might be in goal.
