Italian transfer journalist Gianluigo Longari has today fired up a brand new Chelsea rumour.
He says that winger Pedro Neto has been offered to Saudi team Al Hilal by his agent Jorge Mendes. The news has yet to be confirmed by any of the really big, Chelsea-focused accounts, but there’s no real reason to doubt Longari.
With the addition of Morgan Rogers for a huge fee this month, Chelsea have crowded their attack in a season where there will be no European football. That has always made departures likely, and we weren’t surprised to see Alejandro Garnacho go.
Neto departure could make sense for Blues

Neto has done fairly well in two years at Chelsea without pulling up any trees. We suspected he would be sticking around because he can potentially play as a wing back for Xabi Alonso. But equally, he’s not been so good that Chelsea wouldn’t sell him if a big offer came in, we suspect.

If Alonso really is going to play with wing backs, we can afford to lose another winger, and Neto would get a much better price than the likes of Jamie Gittens right now.
The fact that Mendes is the one doing the offering makes it sound like he has the green light from his client to engineer a move.
In other news…
There’s been a lot of business between Chelsea and Aston Villa this summer – and that could continue with a coach switching teams.
Chelsea have agreed a deal for Maxence Lacroix and will soon announce the signing of the defender.
