Independent chief football writer Miguel Delaney has claimed that Juventus are seriously interested in taking Alvaro Morata off our hands in the summer.
When Morata arrived at Stamford Bridge from Real Madrid in a club-record deal, we hoped that it’d be the start of a new era. The Alvaro era, if you like. Long story short, it wasn’t.
Granted, Morata has played through the pain at times this season, suffering with a long-term back injury. However, he has also shown exactly why he failed to take the starting spot at the spearhead of Real Madrid’s attack off of Karim Benzema – inefficiency.
He’s missed chance after chance this term, with Chelsea fans’ patience in him wearing thin. For those who have had enough of watching Morata miss sitters, you might be in luck.
The Independent claim that Juventus’ interest in re-signing Morata is genuine. However, they’re believed to be keen on only taking him on loan initially, before making the deal permanent later down the line.
Would you like to see Morata leave this summer, Blues?
