The future of Liam Delap at Chelsea has been uncertain almost since midway through his disappointing first season at the club.
The striker, who arrived a year ago from Ipswich, managed just two goals in all competitions, and now is being linked with moves to other clubs already.
Their former striker Aiyegbeni Yakubu gave his thoughts on the potential move.
Everton could get the best out of Delap after Chelsea failed

“When you look at Delap, he did well at Ipswich, scoring goals, and then moved to Chelsea. It’s a massive leap from Ipswich to Chelsea and he’s found it difficult,” Yakubu mused.
“To bring him from Chelsea to Everton, it’s not going to be easy. We’re looking for a striker who can get the job done every weekend and he’s not a bad player to bring in – but can he do the same as he did at Ipswich?”
To us, Everton would be a good move. They’ve got a good structure in place, a solid team and a good manager. But they lack options up top. Delap is not a top class player and may never become one – but we’d trust David Moyes to find a way to get the best out of him.
