It has been a very quiet summer so far for transfers at Chelsea, with the departure of Marc Cucurella the only major news so far. But it feels like things are about to get very interesting. The World Cup is coming to an end, and there will be a wave of action after that.
One story that started bubbling up over the weekend is about Andrey Santos, the midfielder who Chelsea are making it pretty clear they would sell. Manchester United have been linked, and one source claims he’s very open to a move there.
Santos may have same struggles at Man U as at Chelsea
TeamTalk claim that Santos is “prioritising a move where he can estavlish himself as a regular started. We’re not sure he’d have much more luck at Man U than at Chelsea in that. He looks good, but not quite good enough to be an every-week started for a top club just yet.,
Given Chelsea paid £18m for him and could get a multiple of that back if they sell him, we can imagine they are willing to listen to offers. It will come down to how much Man U offer, and whether they can convince Santos he’s well served making the move.
