(Video) Chelsea cheated out of a point as referee fails to award blatant penalty

Penalty

Were Chelsea denied a blatant penalty during our 2-1 loss to Wolves? It looks as though we may have been, which furthers the argument for VAR to come into play in the Premier League at the earliest possible opportunity.

We would prefer not to be seen to be blaming poor officiating for our loss tonight. Ultimately we only have ourselves to blame, but titles are won and top four positions are gained on fine margins, and we were on the wrong side of one against Wolves.

Chelsea were 1-0 up at the time of the incident, but it’s proven costly to us following Wolves’ two goals in four minutes after the hour mark.

Alvaro Morata, who probably wouldn’t have scored anyway, was quite clearly taken out from behind with no contact made with the ball by the Wolves player. He should have had a simple tap-in or a penalty, yet he had neither.

Chelsea now head home empty handed, and the players may well feel aggrieved when they watch this back. What do you think, Blues? Should it have been a penalty?
