Chelsea fans have come up with a bizarre chant of ‘support’ for new signing Ross Barkley.
The England international signed for Chelsea on Friday evening, signing a five-and-a-half-year deal. It remains to be seen where he will fit in Antonio Conte’s plans and whether the supreme quality he showed during his younger years still exists, but you would assume that the Chelsea faithful will be right behind him with their support.
Well, that’s not exactly the case.
A video has emerged of a song that a sizeable group of Chelsea fans were singing about Barkley during the 0-0 draw with Norwich City in the FA Cup at Carrow Road.
The lyrics are as follows: “Viva Ross Barkley, viva Ross Barkley, he left the scouse cos’ they robbed his house, viva Ross Barkley”

Chelsea fans have decided to use Barkley’s arrival as an opportunity to insult scousers, which I’m sure would irk a few as it is, but there is one more pressing issue – Barkley is scouse himself.
Barkley was born and raised in Liverpool, joining the Everton academy when he was just 11-years-old. If we’re insinuating that scousers are thieves, then it’s a direct insult to Barkley and his family. This is a real ‘face palm’ moment…
