The Frenchman completed the turnaround for Chelsea against Southampton with an emphatic finish.
The Premier League champions were two-goals down to the home side, who had not beaten a team in the top-six of the table for 22 games.
Giroud found the back of the net soon after coming on. His goal was fast followed up by a goal from talisman Eden Hazard. Giroud then drilled home on the half-volley to put Chelsea in the driving seat.
