Well, Daniel Sturridge had the last laugh.
Having missed an absolute sitter in front of the Kop, Sturridge will no doubt have been even more desperate to get his name on the scoresheet tonight. He has done, and what a finish it was too.
After Willy Caballero stopped Naby Keira’s strike, Sturridge fired home into the empty net with an overhead kick. Chelsea have work to do if they want to stay in the EFL Cup.
