It is going to be a huge summer of transfer activity at Stamford Bridge. Frank Lampard has enjoyed a progressive first year in charge of Chelsea, but in order for the Blues to reach the next level, he will need to make some massive decisions over the summer. Undoubtedly the biggest factors will surround the players that arrive at the club, but also shipping out the players that are no longer needed is also vital.

Keeping the balance of the squad correct is one of the biggest factors that contribute to a successful title challenge, which means it could be a big summer of outgoings at the Bridge. There are already names that look certain to leave the club, but Lampard could also choose to release some other stars to free up space in funds to bring in better players. But, which current Chelsea stars are likely to be on their way out of Stamford Bridge this summer?

The announced arrival of Hakim Ziyech means the end to Pedro’s five-year stay at Stamford Bridge. The Spaniard has been an excellent servant to the club and has popped up with some vital goals during his career. However, he has become a bit-part player this season having only featured in 28% of the Chelsea fixtures.

His best days are certainly behind him, but there is no doubt that he could still play in the Premier League for a team outside the top six. His best season for the club came in the 2016-17 season as he scored nine goals in the Premier League to help the Blues win the Premier League title.

Willian is also in the same position as Pedro with the arrival of Ziyech. The Brazilian has been demanding a new three-year deal, but the club isn’t willing to offer anything more than a two-year deal. There is an expectancy that he will move on after his contract expires, with a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur on the cards.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk player has been excellent for the Blues throughout his seven-year stay at the club. He has been an integral member of two title-winning sides and will be remembered as a wonderful player for the Blues. Throughout all the different managers that he has played under, Willian has been an integral member, he has made 329 appearances for the Blues and scored 59 goals.

Michy Batshuayi

The future of Michy Batshuayi looks uncertain, and even the departure of Oliver Giroud doesn’t look like it will save his Chelsea career. The Blues will be in the market for a new striker this summer, and Lampard will sell Batshuayi to fund any move. The Belgium international has been given numerous chances this season, but he has failed to take any of them.

The £33 million fee that was paid for him is unlikely to be recouped, but fans will still hold his title-winning goal in the 2016-17 in high-regard. Where he ends up could be anyone’s guess.

Kepa Arrizabalaga

Judging by Lampard’s attitude towards the Spanish goalkeeper, it is incredibly unlikely that he will be at Stamford Bridge next season. The manager is getting increasingly frustrated at the mistakes that he makes and there is a feeling that the Chelsea boss wants a more physical goalkeeper. Because of the high figure that the Blues will expect to see the Spaniard, it is likely that he will be included in an exchange deal to bring in a new goalkeeper.

One transfer that has been rumoured is one that sees Arrizabalaga moving to Atletico as part of a swap deal for Jan Oblak, and that would certainly be an upgrade on what the Blues currently have.
