The pressure on Antonio Conte’s future at Stamford Bridge has cooled after his team’s last three games.
Many believed that the Italian wouldn’t be in the Chelsea job after damaging back-to-back defeats against Bournemouth and Watford.
However, comfortable wins over West Brom and Hull City along with a spirited draw against Barcelona on Tuesday may have put Conte in the club’s good books at least for now.
As per The Guardian, Conte hinted at possibly staying at Chelsea not just for the rest of this season but for next season’s campaign.
That can only be if Conte himself along with the Blues hierarchy are content with extending this relationship, as The Guardian reports.
Conte is quoted by The Guardian saying:
“I’m happy here but, to move forward with the marriage, everyone needs to be in agreement. All parties must be happy.”
The 48-year-old has been a wanted man from various roles back in Italy along with reported interest from some of Europe’s elite clubs including Paris Saint-Germain.
With games massive tests against both Manchester clubs and Barcelona in the coming weeks, departing Chelsea won’t be high on Conte’s agenda.
