Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko concedes he would be “disappointed” to see head coach Antonio Conte depart the club in the summer.
With Chelsea almost certain to miss out on Champions League football following a disappointing league campaign, Conte’s position at the club has come under scrutiny.
The Italian’s attitude off the field has also fuelled more suggestions that the Blues will have a new manager next season, with Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri heavily tipped to succeed his compatriot.
Despite the problems surrounding the club, Bakayoko is quoted by Sky Sports, sharing his thoughts on the speculation over his manager’s future.
“As a player, I would be disappointed [if he leaves]. We all like working with the coach and having this relationship in the long-term.”
With Conte still at the helm, it’s vital that the team continues to play for the manager with the league season finale away to Newcastle United on Sunday and an FA Cup clash with Manchester United on the 19th May.
