Revealed: The devastating financial repercussions of Chelsea missing out on Champions League

Chelsea could be set to feel the financial repercussions of failing to qualify for the Champions League, according to Forbes.

Following our 3-1 defeat to Tottenham at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, it’s now highly unlikely that we will be playing Champions League football next season.

Tottenham and Liverpool are flying. They’re not going to be giving up any points between now and the end of the season. Manchester United have been less convincing in recent weeks, but they’re still getting the job done.

Chelsea are now eight points outside of the top four positions with just seven games left to be played. We need to secure maximum points and pray that one of the teams above us capitulates.

In the likely event that we do not finish in the top four, we will be braced for serious financial loss. Forbes claim that we will miss out on £50M by playing in the Europa League opposed to the Champions League, which could lead to an estimated £30M loss.

Our squad needs to be rebuilt in it’s entirety. We are going to need to invest some serious cash in the transfer market. This is not good news at all.
