Chelsea fans destroy Thibaut Courtois on Twitter after ‘The Best’ triumph

Thibaut Courtois (somehow) won the goalkeeper of the year award at the FIFA ‘The Best’ awards yesterday night, and Chelsea fans tore into him on Twitter.

Courtois was good for Belgium at the World Cup, but had a subpar season as a whole. The most notable moment of his campaign was getting nut-mugged at his near post against Barcelona. We’re not entirely sure how he’s managed to scoop this award.

Either way, he’s the man who left with the silverware, and took to Twitter to celebrate his personal triumph.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, Chelsea fans have fallen out of love with Courtois. The manner in which he dealt with his departure was a disgrace, and all he’s done since leaving the club is speak ill of us.
