Chelsea are set to lose their longest serving player at the end of the season when his contract comes to an end, according to The Sun.
Following the departures of the likes of John Terry, John Obi Mikel and Branislav Ivanovic, the traditional Chelsea ‘old guard’, if you like, has been dismantled.
Their exits have left the club’s longest-serving player as a goalkeeper who was signed in 2009 and has never made a competitive appearance for the club – Matej Delac.
Delac has only ever pulled on a Chelsea shirt during pre-season friendlies. He’s been shipped out on loan a staggering TEN times during his time on our books.
However, his time at the club will soon come to an end. The Sun report that his contract is set to expire in the summer, with Chelsea showing little interest in handing him an extension.
Thanks for the, err, memories? Matej. Best of luck in the future.
