Michy Batshuayi has been told that he will be part of Maurizio Sarri’s first-team squad next season, according to reports in France.
Batshuayi is undoubtedly talented, but was never able to earn the full faith of former manager Antonio Conte.
After departing to Borussia Dortmund on-loan, he wasted no time showing Conte what he was missing, scoring nine goals in 14 appearances.
His future at Chelsea has been under the spotlight this summer. There were suggestions that he could be sold in order to fund a move for a new striker.
That would be an obviously poor decision. Batshuayi has the potential to be as good as any striker realistically attainable at the minute.
Sarri appears to agree. Reports in France claim that our new manager has told Batshuayi he’ll have a role to play in his first-team squad next season.
