Real Madrid have reportedly made contact with Antonio Conte over replacing Zinedine Zidane as manager. However, Conte has little interest in moving to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
Conte remains in limbo. His future at Chelsea is in doubt following a season of shortfalls and the deterioration of his relationship with the club’s board.
However, at the time of writing, he is still our manager. Amid continual reports that the club have held talks with Maurizio Sarri, Laurent Blanc and Slavisa Jokanovic over becoming our next manager – Conte remains.
He doesn’t look to have any intention of leaving, either. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Real Madrid approached Conte over becoming Los Blancos manager. Conte, though, has not heard from Chelsea, he does not appear to be prepared to walk out the door without being pushed.
Conte’s willingness to respect his contract is refreshing, it’s just a shame that the club have not been able to replicate that loyalty.
