Chelsea are hoping to strike a deal to sign Anthony Martial from Manchester United this deadline day, according to CaughtOffside.
We thought as though Chelsea’s incomings could have been concluded following the arrivals of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Mateo Kovacic – but perhaps not.
CaughtOffside have published a report claiming that Chelsea will look to use Man United’s interest in Kurt Zouma to their advantage and attempt to poach Martial.
Chelsea have been linked with Martial all summer, but United have shown no willingness to let him go, especially to a fellow Premier League side.
It would take some real desperation from Jose Mourinho for the move to materialise. Thankfully for us, he is in dire need of a new centre-back.
We wouldn’t be opposed to parting with Zouma if it meant that we got Martial in return, even if we were plugging a hole in United’s side in doing so.
