Manchester United have opened talks with Chelsea over signing Kurt Zouma, according to L’Equipe.
As Jose Mourinho’s desperation to sign a centre-back grows, he appears to have turned to one of old flames.
Deals for Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld look difficult to complete in the remaining hours of the window, while Zouma is surplus to requirements under Maurizio Sarri.
L’Equipe believe that Mourinho is attempting to take advantage of the situation. The Special One is thought to be keen on signing Zouma on a permanent basis.
Everton are also thought to be in the race to sign him, but only on-loan. It’s unclear which deal Chelsea would prefer to do.
According to the Telegraph‘s Matt Law, Chelsea would ‘100%’ ask about Anthony Martial if Man United did come knocking for Zouma.
This is one that could develop throughout the course of transfer deadline day. Be sure to keep an eye out on TalkChelsea.net for further updates!
