We all love a trip to watch Chelsea in person – for many it’s a lifelong dream. But whether you’ve snagged tickets at Stamford Bridge or just have a desire to go and check out the home of the Blues for a stadium tour, you’ll need to get there first. So how does one do that?
London Underground
The nearest tube station is Fulham Broadway which is on the District Line (green) and only a 2 walk minutes walk from the ground.
- Arrive at least 90 minutes before kickoff – Fulham Broadway gets extremely crowded close to kickoff.
- Use the main exit at Fulham Broadway for direct route to stadium entrance.
- When the game finishes, one of the easiest ways to avoid the crowds around Stamford Bridge is to walk to Earl’s Court Underground station, which is around a 10–15 minute walk from the stadium.
Rail
The nearest overground train station to Stamford Bridge is West Brompton, approximately a 20-minute walk away. On exiting the station, turn right, then right again into Brompton Cemetery. The ground soon becomes visible on the right.
Road
Away fans driving from the North should follow the M25 to junction 15, taking the M4 towards London. The M4 becomes the A4 at Hammersmith. Follow the A4 over Hammersmith flyover and turn for Earls Court after 1½ miles. Follow the one-way system to Fulham Road, turning right at the traffic lights. The stadium is situated on the right, after about 500 yards.
Fans driving from the South are advised to use the M3 as far as junction 2, leaving to join the M25. Directions to the ground are then as above.
Bicycle
Chelsea have a bicycle storage area available for supporters wishing to cycle to Stamford Bridge. A bike shed is situated at Stamford Gate.
River Boat
Boats run on the Thames with the closest pier 15 minutes walk from Stamford Bridge around the back of the Chelsea Harbour hotel.
Plane
The nearest major airport to Stamford Bridge is London Heathrow, approximately 14 miles from the stadium.
The Piccadilly line runs directly from Heathrow to Earl’s Court Underground station, where you can change for the District line to Fulham Broadway, the closest station to Stamford Bridge.
Taxi
There are several taxi companies in London that can take you to and from the stadium. You can always pre book a private hire taxi, or hail a black cab on any highway.
