We’ve all become well-accustomed to Don Balon nonsense in recent times, but this one might just be the most outlandish Chelsea related rumour to date.
They’ve continually linked us with summer moves for Isco, Marco Asensio and Gareth Bale. The chances of us poaching any of the aforementioned from the Santiago Bernabeu are rather slim, let alone a dismantling of their entire attacking options in a matter of months.
This particular rumour, though, is linking a Chelsea player with Los Blancos, not the other way around. The player in question is Alvaro Morata, who already left Real Madrid, returned, left again, and reportedly wants to return for a third-stint.
Don Balon claim that Morata has asked Florentino Perez whether he’d be able to return to Real Madrid following the departure of Zinedine Zidane, who used the Spaniard sparingly following his summer move from Juventus.
Morata returning to Madrid would be utterly ridiculous and the chances of it happening are minimal. He may well be on his way out of Stamford Bridge this summer, but a move to Italy seems far more plausible.
