Chelsea target’s price-tag revealed amid claims Blues are leading race to sign him

CSKA Moscow have reportedly increased their asking price for midfielder Aleksandr Golovin.

There is a risk following a major tournament of falling into the trap of signing players who have performed on the international stage, perhaps a level above what they have managed to produce for their club.

Golovin may fall into that category, but the midfielder was already highly-coveted prior to his stellar World Cup campaign with his country.

Golovin’s former CSKA Moscow teammate, Roman Shirokov, has claimed that Chelsea are leading the race to sign the Russian. It’s unclear whether that’s based on his personal opinion or inside knowledge.

Either way, Chelsea have been made aware of exactly what they’ll have to pay to prise Golovin away from the VEB Arena this summer, with CSKA Moscow increasing their asking price for the 22-year-old.
