Chelsea have already lined up a potential replacement for Eden Hazard, should the Belgian opt to join Real Madrid in the summer transfer window, according to Don Balon.
Rumours linking Hazard with a move to Los Blancos do not appear as though they’ll be going away anytime soon. Don Balon report that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez could make an ambitious move to sign the Belgian in the summer.
From a Chelsea perspective, the prospect of losing Hazard is something that we wish not entertain. However, if we were able to adequately replace his influence, it certainly wouldn’t be the end of the world.
Don Balon believe that we would consider making a move to sign Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling if Hazard did depart. Sterling has been in emphatic form this term, scoring 19 goals – and we’re only in February!
It may seem improbable, but Sterling is one of very few players in the world who would be capable of filling Hazard’s boots. Let’s keep a watchful eye on this one.
