There may be a U-Turn in Real Madrid’s plans to sign Eden Hazard as Chelsea’s struggles continue this season.
With the Blues set to fall short on our ambition for Champions League qualification, Hazard has failed to step up to the plate when needed. Whilst Chelsea shouldn’t be so reliant on one player, Hazard himself isn’t making an impression on the Real hierarchy, as the Standard reports. You can use our sports betting bonus to predict if you think Eden will leave in the summer.
In some ways this could be seen as a positive sign as we would be keeping the team’s best player, especially when Hazard is at his best. However, the Belgian won’t be content with playing in the Europa League and talks on an improved contract continue to stall.
As per the Standard, Chelsea are still hoping that Hazard will sign a new deal with the Blues that would see him earning £300,000 per week. The report also suggests that the club want in excess of £100m to see us part ways with the 27-year-old.
It’s set to be the busiest summer window for Chelsea since the early years of the Roman Abramovich era that could see a potential squad rebuild in place.
