Inter Milan are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea wing-back Davide Zappacosta.
Chelsea signed Zappacosta on transfer deadline day back in 2017, in a deal that Sky Sports reported to be worth £23M plus add-ons.
Despite a bright start to life at Stamford Bridge, Zappacosta was unable to displace Victor Moses and nail down the right-wing-back spot for himself. He was rotated in and out of Antonio Conte’s starting eleven, often used as an impact substitute late in games.
Zappacosta is not your archetypal full-back. If a new manager comes in and decides to switch to a back-four, he may find it difficult to transition back into a more reserved role.
The future is uncertain for the Italian in SW6, despite only being here a year. He could be set to be offered an escape route, according to reports in Italy.
Tuttosport report that Inter Milan are interested in signing Zappacosta. The Serie A side will propose an initial loan deal with an option to buy due to Chelsea’s presumably high asking price.
