Chelsea fans were given a taste of what’s to come under Maurizio Sarri against Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon.
We were not sure what to expect following the dismal performance against Manchester City. The reigning champions played us off the park. We struggled to get a foothold in the game.
Sarri had a further week to rectify the mistakes we made at Wembley, and did so successfully. We’re not there yet, there’s work to be done, but Chelsea’s understanding of ‘Sarriball’ is growing.
That was clear to see in the buildup to Marcos Alonso winning a penalty. Chelsea strung 14 passes together in the process of building from defence to attack.
See the below video. We’re starting to look like Napoli under Sarri, arguably the most entertaining team in Europe last season alongside Pep Guardiola’s Man City side. We’re so excited to see what the future holds!
