We are able to bring you an injury update ahead of Chelsea’s clash with West Brom on Monday night thanks to physioroom.

After back-to-back defeats against AFC Bournemouth and Watford, during which we conceded a combined seven goals, Antonio Conte’s men will no doubt be looking to use this fixture as an opportunity to bounce back and send a message to their rivals.

However, Conte has five injury problems to contend with ahead of our clash with the Baggies, as physioroom report.

Ross Barkley and Alvaro Morata

Ross Barkley and Alvaro Morata are two players that definitely will not be involved in this one, according to physioroom.

Barkley has suffered another hamstring injury, hopefully not as severe as the one that saw him miss half of the current campaign, whereas Morata is continuing his recovery from a back injury.

The Spaniard has not featured for the Blues since January 17th. physioroom do not provide a definitive return date for Morata. Let’s hope it’s not too long before we see him return to action.

Marcos Alonso and Andreas Christensen

Two cornerstones in Chelsea’s defensive line, Conte will be praying that they are fit in time to face Barcelona in the Champions League.

physioroom list both players as having to undergo a late fitness test in order to be given the green light to face West Brom on Monday night.

Andreas Christensen has arguably been our player of the season alongside Eden Hazard, whereas Marcos Alonso is a genuine goal-threat from left-wing-back. We keep our fingers crossed that the pair are fit to feature.

Pedro

physioroom believe that Pedro has successfully recovered from his ankle injury and is in contention to face West Brom.

The Spaniard may well be called upon if Conte decides to persevere with a 3-4-3 system, using Hazard as a ‘false-nine’.

If Olivier Giroud is handed his first start in Chelsea colours, regardless of Pedro’s fitness, it seems likely that he’ll find himself among the substitutes.

If Conte plays anyone but Willian, Giroud, Hazard upfront then his sanity will need serious investigating.
