Chelsea plan to keep Andreas Christensen around as part of Antonio Conte’s squad next season, according to the Daily Mail.
Christensen has spent the past two seasons out on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach, and has emerged as one of the most promising young defenders in Europe. The Daily Mail report that the Bundesliga outfit are keen to sign him on a permanent transfer, but it doesn’t appear as though Chelsea will part with the 21-year-old.
The Daily Mail believe that Chelsea’s technical staff want to keep Christensen at Stamford Bridge in order to continue his development. The tabloid note that the Premier League leaders are prepared to snub interest from Southampton, Manchester City, Liverpool and Leicester City.
The Denmark international has been at Chelsea since he was 17-years-old, and the Daily Mail believe that he is eager to remain in West London next term, and will look to impress Conte in pre-season.
It would be great to see a player with Chelsea DNA become an integral part of the squad. Christensen undoubtedly has the talent, he just needs an opportunity.
