Chelsea are still being linked with a move for FC Porto left-back Alex Telles, despite the Blues recruiting Emerson Palmieri from AS Roma in the January transfer window.
Despite a change of manager often leading to wholesale changes to the squad, Chelsea do not appear to be in any great need of signing a new left-back.
Marcos Alonso, though not rated by some, was included in the PFA Team of the Year for the 2017/18 campaign. His inclusion was testament to how dangerous he can be on the front-foot.
Palmieri also showed flashes of potential during the opportunities he was provided with by manager Antonio Conte after joining in the winter.
Despite that, Team Talk cite reports from both Portugal and France in claiming that Chelsea are one of several top European sides who hold an interest in signing Telles.
The 25-year-old has a £35M release clause in his FC Porto contract. That seems like a hefty price to pay for a player who would be a completely unnecersary acquisition.
