Chelsea are one of a host of clubs interested in signing FC Porto striker Moussa Marega, according to Foot Mercato.
Marega took the long road to the top of the footballing world, but joined Porto in the winter of 2016. After a successful spell out on loan with Vitória Guimaraes, he was kept behind by Porto as part of the first-team squad. It didn’t take him long to justify that decision.
Marega has found the back of the net 12 times in 14 league appearance so far in the 2017/18 campaign. It appears as though his electric form in Portugal has been turning heads around Europe.
As per Foot Mercato, Premier League champions Chelsea are interested in securing his signature – but we are not alone in the race to sign him. The report claims that Tottenham, Manchester United, Brighton and Leicester City are also keen.
Foot Mercato believe that his buy-out clause stands in the region of €40M (£35.5M). That’s a price that Chelsea can comfortably afford to pay, but whether the board would see it beneficial, especially after such a considerable outlay on Alvaro Morata, remains to be seen.
