David Luiz suffered a broken wrist during Chelsea’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal at the weekend, but played on through the pain, according to the Daily Mail.
Luiz will already be sitting out three matches through suspension having been shown a straight red card on Sunday. His reckless tackle on Gunners left-back Sead Kolasinac earned him an early bath, but it looks as though we may be without him for even longer than first anticipated.
As per the Daily Mail, Luiz suffered a broken wrist when he fell into an advertising board at Stamford Bridge, but played on for 40 minutes. The tabloid claim that the Brazilian is determined to be fit in time for next week’s clash with Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, but is wearing a cast and is understandably doubtful to be available for that game.
The sooner we get Luiz fit and firing, the better. Since his return to Chelsea in the summer of 2016 he has scarcely put a foot wrong.
