Former Chelsea striker Fernando Torres’ stuttering career could be set to take another turn for the worse.

Having established himself as one of the best players in the world during his time with Liverpool, his arrival at Chelsea was met with high expectations. However, he failed to replicate the performances he put in at Anfield, in a Chelsea shirt – despite playing a part in our Champions League triumph in 2012.

He subsequently joined Serie A outfit AC Milan, before returning to boyhood club Atletico Madrid. It looks as though his time in La Liga could be coming to an end.

According to Marca, Torres has emerged as a transfer target for Mexican club Cruz Azul. Marca believe that Cruz Azul could secure Torres’ signature in the coming days, which would complete the demise of a former world-class centre-forward.

Hopefully upon his retirement Torres will be remembered for what he was, rather than what he became.

  1. What a sour article. Whilst at Chelsea Torres contributed to Champions League and Europa League wins. He also won Euros with Spain. He is doing fine at Atletico .
