Chelsea legend Claude Makelele believes that Tammy Abraham must work like Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto’o if he wants to reach their level, reports the Evening Standard.
Abraham currently on loan at Swansea, has been working under assistant manager Makelele since the start of the season and has shown glimpses of promise, scoring three goals in all competitions so far this season.
However, despite the 44-year-old seeing a great attitude in the English striker, Makelele insists the striker has to push himself to the limit if he wants to become a world class player, as the Evening Standard reports.
Makelele is quoted by the Evening Standard saying:
“He wants to be one of the best strikers in the Premier League. He gets an example in the way Drogba and Eto’o play. But to do that he must work like they did.”
Abraham signed a five-year-contract before leaving London for South Wales in the hope to make an impression on the club, especially Antonio Conte.
There’s clearly great potential in the 20-year-old and we will be hoping he continues to score goals and break into the Chelsea side next season.
