Eden Hazard has enjoyed his best season in a Chelsea shirt to date, but it hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows for the Belgium international this campaign.
The Daily Mail quote Chelsea legend Frank Lampard, who reveals that Hazard was causing problems during training earlier this season, but Antonio Conte was quick to stamp it out:
“Mid-season there were rumours that Eden Hazard was being a bit difficult on the training field but Conte dealt with it immediately. He came down on it with an iron fist and then he put an arm around him and that has brought the best out in him.”
Hazard went on to find the back of the net 16 times in the Premier League, his best goal haul in England to date. He has re-established himself as one of the best players in the world after a difficult campaign last time around, and his influence has played a major role in our success this term.
It’s disappointing to think that he could have been misbehaving earlier in the season, but if Lampard is correct in claiming that Conte acted fast to put an end to it, it speaks volumes out the Italian’s excellent man management.
