Chelsea face Burnley on Saturday afternoon in the first game of our 2017/18 Premier League campaign.
Antonio Conte’s men will be looking to get off to a good start as they look to retain their Premier League crown. The Blues have only managed to do so once, when they won back-to-back titles under the stewardship of Jose Mourinho in 2004/05 and 2005/06. Conte will be looking to replicate that feat this term.
We have been handed a favourable opening day fixture against Burnley at Stamford Bridge. It took until April for Sean Dyche’s side to pick up a victory on the road last season, so it is difficult to see an upset on the cards. This is the Premier League however, and anything can happen.
As the BBC report, Chelsea will be without the injured Pedro, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Eden Hazard, as well as Victor Moses who is serving a one-match suspension after being shown the red card in the FA Cup final in May.
