The Nike era at Stamford Bridge is well underway, and the kit manufacturer have spoiled us with their first ever Chelsea kit design.

Many manufacturers nowadays imprint their DNA onto a shirt with complicated designs or exuberant colours – but not Nike. As Leonardo da Vinci wisely remarked;

“simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”

Home shirt

The deep shade of blue and unpretentious design work perfectly in coherence. It is a kit fit to be worn by champions, both on a domestic and international stage.

As well as being one of the most ‘easy-on-the-eye’ designs we have had in recent years, the shirt is also constructed in a way which will enhance performance.

For example, the Dri-FIT technology is designed to keep you dry when it rains, where as the lightweight Nike breathe fabric will keep you cool in a warmer climate.chelsea nike home shirt 2017/18

On the inside cuff of the right sleeve it says “THE BLUES” and the left sleeve is adorned with “EST. 1905”, referencing the year of the club’s formation.

A blue “CFC” motif features on the front of the white socks, which integrate NikeGrip technology for the ultimate boot-to-foot connection.

As football tradition goes the latest goalkeeper shirt retains the tradition with the placement of branding logos and crests.

The Chelsea crest is located to the left side of the chest in a woven form just like the suppliers logo situated alongside in white. Yokohama tyres are the club’s primary sponsors and this is printed to the center of the shirt for a premium finish.
